Atal Tunnel Rohtang

 

Atal Tunnel Rohtang is the world's Longest tunnel which is 10000 feet above sea level connecting two districts of Himachal Pradesh, Leh and Manali.

This two lane tunnel having length of 9.02 KMs cuts around 46 KMs distance and 4-5 Hrs of travelling time between Leh and Manali.

Though the idea of constructing a tunnel between the two cities was proposed on 1983,due to various reasons project got delayed and the work started only on 28 June 2010 and inaugurated on 03.10.2020.

9.02 കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൈർഘ്യമുള്ള ഈ രണ്ട് വരി പാത തുരങ്കം 46 കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരവും 4-5 മണിക്കൂർ യാത്രാ സമയവും ലേയ്ക്കും മനാലിക്കും ഇടയിൽ കുറയ്ക്കുന്നു.

രണ്ട് നഗരങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ ഒരു തുരങ്കം നിർമ്മിക്കാനുള്ള ആശയം 1983 ൽ നിർദ്ദേശിക്കപ്പെട്ടുവെങ്കിലും, വിവിധ കാരണങ്ങളാൽ പദ്ധതി വൈകുകയും 2010 ജൂൺ 28 ന് പദ്ധതി പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ ആരംഭിക്കുകയും 03.10.2020 ന് ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്തു.
